Free Gridfinity bin STL, made to your size

How to make it

  1. Open the Gridfinity generator and choose Bin.
  2. Set the size in grid units across, deep and tall (one unit is 42 mm across and 7 mm high), or type the space you need to fill in millimetres and let it work out the units.
  3. Split it into compartments, and pick the pocket shape: rectangular, round, hexagonal or a rounded slot.
  4. Add what you need: a label tab, a finger scoop, a stacking lip, and magnet (6 × 2 mm) or M3 screw holes.
  5. Download the STL. Make a matching baseplate the same way.
  6. Print one bin and a 1 × 1 baseplate first to check the fit before you print a drawerful.

Frequently asked questions

What size is a Gridfinity unit?

One grid unit is 42 × 42 mm and one height unit is 7 mm. See every measurement in the Gridfinity standard.

Are these bins compatible with other Gridfinity parts?

Yes. They are built to the published dimensions, so they fit baseplates and bins made by anyone else who follows the standard.

Do Gridfinity bins need magnets?

No. They sit in a baseplate on their own; magnets or screws help when drawers are slammed or bins are carried around.

Is a vase-mode Gridfinity bin lighter?

Only for tall bins. The base is solid either way, so a tall bin comes out around a quarter lighter, while a short one can use more filament than a normal bin.

Is it really free?

Yes. The generator is free; you need a free account to download the STL.
