Print Partner Terms

Apply

The rules for being a print partner of 3d-lithophane.com, in plain words. By applying, you say you are happy with them. When we agree to work together, we confirm your commission, your area and how files reach you by email. That email and these terms together are our agreement.

1. What a print partner is

  • Our members make lithophanes, lamps, signs, boxes and other 3D models on 3d-lithophane.com. Many have no 3D printer.
  • Next to every Download button there is a Get it printed button. In your area, that button sends the member and their file to you.
  • You are the seller. The member orders from you, pays you, and you print and post it. We are not part of that sale.
  • Joining is free. There is no fee to join and nothing to pay up front. You only pay commission on orders that came from us.

2. Your area

  • We have one partner per country, or for a big country, per city or region. We agree your area by email.
  • While you are our partner for that area, Get it printed sends members there to you only.
  • To keep your area, you need to answer members and send your monthly report. If there are no orders and no replies for 90 days, we may talk to you about it and then open the area to someone else.
  • We may still list "coming soon" partners on the map for places you don't serve.

3. How files reach you

One of these, agreed by email:

  • Your API. We send the file with our partner reference, and the member lands on your page with the model loaded and priced.
  • A partner link. The member goes to your upload or quote page with our partner code.
  • Email. We email you the file, the member's name and email address, and our reference.
  • Your partner dashboard. We email you when a job arrives. You download the file and keep its status up to date there. No website or API needed.

Files are STL or 3MF, up to 100 MB. Every file has our reference, so both of us can match the orders.

4. Looking after our members

  • Reply to a quote request within 2 working days.
  • Show the price, the delivery time and the postage clearly before the member pays.
  • Print to a good standard and pack it so it arrives in one piece.
  • If a print fails or arrives broken, sort it out with the member fairly, as you would with any customer.
  • Returns, refunds, guarantees, taxes and the consumer law in your country are yours to handle, as the seller.
  • Treat members at least as well as your other customers. No higher prices because they came from us.

5. Commission

  • You pay the commission we agreed by email: a percentage of the order (not counting postage and tax), or a fixed amount per order. For example, our US partner pays 10% of the print price.
  • Commission is due on every paid order that came from Get it printed with our reference, including repeat orders of that same file within 90 days.
  • No commission on an order you fully refund.
  • Each month: send us your report by the 10th. We match it with the files we sent and send you the total. You pay within 15 days by PayPal, Wise or bank transfer, in your currency or in USD. Each of us pays our own transfer fees.
  • If the total is below USD 20, it carries over to the next month.
  • If our numbers and yours don't match, we look at the references together and agree the right figure before payment.

6. Record keeping

  • We record every file we send you: date, tool, file size and reference.
  • You record what happened to each reference: quote, order or no order, order value (without postage and tax), refunds, and commission.
  • You report to us monthly through your partner dashboard, a report (spreadsheet or email) or your API. With the partner dashboard, the statuses you keep there are the report: each month you check the totals and press Confirm.
  • Keep your records for 2 years, and show us the ones for our references if we ask.

7. Members' details

  • You get only what the member chooses to share, and you use it only for that order.
  • You don't add members to your mailing list, and you don't send them marketing, unless they say yes to it themselves on your site.
  • You never sell or share members' details. Keep them safe, and follow the privacy law in your country.
  • If a member asks us to have their details removed, you help.

8. The models and who owns them

  • A model belongs to the member who made it, or to its designer. Sending it to you doesn't give you any rights to it.
  • Print it only for that member's order. Don't keep it for anything else, sell it, share it or put it in a catalogue.
  • You may refuse an order, for example if you think it copies someone else's design, character or logo. You may also refuse it if it is unsafe or illegal where you are: weapons and parts for them are never allowed. Tell us when you refuse one, so we can help the member.

9. Our name and the map

  • While you are a partner, you may say "Print partner of 3d-lithophane.com" and use our logo for it. Don't change the logo, and don't say we own or guarantee your business.
  • We show your business on our Map of World Wide Printing Partners with your name, area, a short text and a link to your website. We may mention you in our newsletter and on social media.
  • We may use your name and logo for that while you are a partner. Tell us if anything changes.
  • When the partnership ends, both of us stop using the other's name and logo within 14 days.

10. What we do and don't promise

  • We send you the members who press Get it printed in your area, list you on the map, and tell our members about you.
  • We can't promise how many files or orders you will get.
  • The tools and the button may sometimes be down for updates or repairs. We fix things as fast as we can.

11. Ending the partnership

  • Either of us can end it at any time with 30 days' notice by email.
  • We can end it straight away if you break these terms in a serious way. That includes misusing members' details, not paying commission, or treating members badly again and again.
  • Commission is still due on orders paid before the end.

12. Responsibility

  • You are responsible for your prints, your service, your prices and postage, and for following the law where you work. If a claim is made against us because of an order you handled, you cover it.
  • To the extent the law allows, neither of us is responsible to the other for lost profits or indirect losses. Our total responsibility to you is limited to the commission you paid us in the last 12 months.
  • If we disagree, we first try to sort it out by talking.
