Terms of Service & Refund Policy

The service

The site converts photos into printable lithophane STL files and provides an in-browser 3D designer, along with makers and generators for other prints, and G-code tools for hobby lasers and CNC routers. Core features are free with daily fair-use limits. The Supporter and Supporter Plus plans lift those limits and unlock the AI features.

Accounts

Register with accurate details and keep your password to yourself. You're responsible for what happens under your account. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service (see fair use below).

Supporter subscription

• Billed monthly at the price shown on the Supporter page, via our payment provider and merchant of record, Lemon Squeezy — they are the seller of record and handle VAT/sales tax.
• It renews automatically each month until you cancel.
• Cancel anytime in one click via "Manage subscription" — you keep Supporter access until the end of the period you've already paid for. No cancellation fees, no questions.
• Prices may change for future billing periods; you'll always see the current price before it applies, and you can cancel first.

Refund policy

If something didn't work or you're simply not happy, email contact@3d-lithophane.com within 14 days and we will support where needed Voluntary Supporter donations (HipPay / PayPal / WeChat) are gifts and generally aren't refundable, but if you made a genuine mistake, write to us and we'll sort it out.

Your content and your models

• Your photos and designs remain yours. STL files you generate are yours to use, including commercially.
• Only upload or design content you have the right to use, and nothing illegal or hateful.
• No weapons — see below.
• If you mark a design public, you give us permission to display it in the gallery until you unshare or delete it.

No firearms or weapons

• Do not use the site, its tools or its AI to design, make, convert or share firearms, firearm parts or accessories (frames, receivers, barrels, magazines, suppressors and the like), or any other weapon. This applies to uploads, designs, public gallery items, design-service requests and anything you make from our files.
• Laws on 3D-printed weapons differ from place to place and are changing — some places now restrict printing them, or require printers and software to block firearm files. You are responsible for following the law where you live and print.
• We may refuse, remove or report such content, and close the account that made it, without a refund. The AI may also refuse requests like this.

Lasers, CNC routers and printers

The laser and CNC tools make G-code that moves real machines. Check every file in your machine's own software or our simulator before you run it, never leave a running laser or router unattended, wear the right eye protection, use extraction, and keep a fire extinguisher at hand. Some materials — PVC and other chlorine-containing plastics among them — give off toxic or corrosive fumes when lasered: never cut or engrave them. Tools marked Beta are still being tested; use them with extra care.

Free downloads licence

The models we offer on the Downloads page are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence (CC BY 4.0). You may print, share, change and sell them, as long as you give credit — for example “Model by 3D-Lithophane.com, CC BY 4.0” — and say if you changed it. The licence covers those downloads only: not the site's name, logo, code or pages, and not anything members upload or design, which stays theirs.

Fair use

Don't attempt to bypass daily limits, share accounts to pool quotas, scrape the site, resell access, or use the AI generator for anything other than generating 3D designs. Each AI call costs real money — abuse is the one thing that can sink a free tool like this.

No warranties, sensible liability

The service is provided "as is", without guarantees of uptime or fitness for a particular purpose — it's a passion project, not an enterprise SLA. Always check generated models and G-code before printing, cutting or carving; results depend on your machine, materials, and settings, which we can't control. You are responsible for using your machines safely and lawfully. To the extent the law allows, our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the last 12 months.

Changes & contact
