Make a name sign to 3D print

Type a name and a second line, pick a font and an icon, and choose the shape: a rounded rectangle, a square, an oval or an outline that follows the letters. Add two screw holes, one hole, a hanging loop or a stand that prints beside it.

The letters stand on the sign at their own height, so a printer with one nozzle prints it in two colours with a single filament change. The page tells you the layer to change at. With an AMS, CFS or MMU, download one 3MF with every colour already set.

Tips for a good print

  • Bold fonts read best from a distance. Thin script fonts need a bigger sign, or use the Thicken setting.
  • For a door sign outside, print in PETG or ASA: PLA softens in strong sun.
  • Keep the sign under your bed size; the page warns you when it is too big.

Frequently asked questions

Can I print a two-colour sign without an AMS?

Yes. The letters sit higher than the plate, so you only change filament once, at the layer the page gives you. Most slicers let you add the change (or a pause) on that layer.

How do I hang it?

Choose two screw holes, one hole, or a loop on the top for a string. For a desk or a shelf, choose the stand: it prints as a separate part and the sign slots into it.

Can I cut it on a laser or a CNC router instead?

Yes. Under "Make it on another machine" the same sign opens in the Laser or CNC studio with the outline to cut and the letters to engrave or carve.
